G) At the bar, when I asked for a glass of red wine, the server seemed not to be sure if she could open the bottle or not and when she served me she said "Maybe I'll get in trouble, but anyway." All these interactions demonstrate that the hotel personnel is inexperienced in customer service, unsophisticated and badly need training! Not a place I would recommend. There are no recycling bins in the rooms. F) Not an environmentally friendly hotel. Rather than respond quickly, the young woman at the desk started arguing that we should have done this or that and looked at us with a "whatever" look. E) Finally, we asked for late checkout which we were told was OK. I asked if she could check & she said "Wait, I have to ask my supervisor or something like that." D) The "free" breakfast is meager to say the least. Her answer was : "oh, you mean the exercise room" ?!!! I don't know if it's open yet (it was 7:20 am & it's supposed to open at 7). I had to repeat (I'm French Canadian and I asked in French, so it wasn't a language barrier). C) Some young people on the staff are clueless: when I asked the front desk where the "gym" was, she looked at me like with a blank stare. B) The room was cold, we had to turn up the heat at least 5 to 8 degrees. However in the room, you need a flashlight!!! It's really way too dark, especially since the ceilings are dark grey. Close to the highway & airport What doesn't work at all: A) the lighting in the hallways is so bright, you need sunglasses. Oh by the way, the young man at the reception asked us the strangest question ! When two people arrive at a hotel and give their names, why in the world would you ask them if they have a reservation? What works: 1. We got to reception, only to be told it wasn't the right hotel. It was late in the evening, we drove 3 hours, we were tired and it was raining. We got the main location as this is the only one listed. For some strange reason that address isn't listed here nor on Google Maps. Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard, which took us some time to find. I stayed at the Grand Times Hotel a few weeks ago during a business trip.
